Climb Nova Scotia Slideshow

Climb Nova Scotia receives annual funding from the Nova Scotia provincial government via NS Health Promotion and Protection. Our funding is up for review this year so we are busy getting all the paperwork together at the moment.

Mick and Scott recently delivered a presentation to our funding partners and a number of fellow provincial recreation organizations to give a snapshot of our operations. Please take a look through our presentation slides if you are interested - you might be surprised by how much we do every year!

CNS monthly meeting minutes
November 6th/2009

Finances:
CNS has become a proud sponsor of climbeasterncanada.com and would like to thank Fred Berube for his dedication to the sight as it functions as an integral communication mechanism for climbers throughout the Maritimes.
CNS patches will soon be available for purchase at both the Dalplex Rock Court and Mountain Equipment Coop. Currently they are available at Ground Zero Along with CNS shirts and memberships. CNS will also be looking into CNS window stickers and licence plates. We’ll keep you posted!

Gear:
CNS has supplied Ghislain with bolts and gear to bolting the Head-Point wall at Columbus. Thanks Zig!
As Nova Scotia descends into the winter season, CNS will turn its attention to the continuation of Ice Days along with the possibility of new ice tools and gear. For those who are interested in learning to ice climb this winter CNS is excited to support you.

Events:
CNS is proud to announce their support and the success of the Tour de Bloc which was held at the Dalplex Rock Court this November. CNS supplied 600$ for cash purses to the top three men and women. Congratulations to Ben Smith and Holly Read for taking first place in Men’s and Women’s Open category, respectively. We look forward to the second Nova Scotian Tour de Bloc that will be held at Ground Zero in February 2010. Come out and support your local strong women and men!
The TAPHE was a success, thank you the volunteers who came to represent CNS and support climbing in Nova Scotia as is applies to local phys.ed. classes. Special thanks to Heather Bray for making the gorgeous CNS poster board, Aidas Rygelis for his photography, and Sean Therien for the significant amount of time he invested.
Mick Levin and Scott Richardson will be representing CNS at the PRO conference on November 18th/2009. Good luck!
